This course is a Nationally Recognised Accredited course. Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive skin treatment which buffs away the outermost layer of the skin. Microdermabrasion is typically used as a cosmetic procedure to treat wrinkles, sun-induced pigmentation (darkened skin), acne scarring, enlarged pores and ‘stretch marks’. It may be combined with medicines applied on the skin to treat acne.

Course Content:

  • Client Consultation and Identifying a treatment plan
  • Skin Analysis and Diagnosis using magnifying lamp
  • Background of the Skin Biology and Skin Science
  • Skin Diseases and Disorders
  • Pre-set systems using crystals and vacuum suction to exfoliate the skin of the body or face.
  • Skin science and effects of treatment on skin structure,
  • Design micro-dermabrasion treatment
  • Prepare for micro-dermabrasion treatment.
  • Adjust treatment parameters according to patch test results.- Decide on treatment procedure, number and direction of passes.
  • Provide micro-dermabrasion for face or body.
  • Treat the following; fine lines, hyper pigmentation, oily or congested skin, scar tissue, stretch marks
  • Stretch and manipulate skin to prevent damage.
  • Monitor client reactions and adjust treatment parameters or cease treatment as required.
  • Apply post-treatment products
  • Evaluate treatment
